Meet Dr. Stuart Shake (Newburgh, IN)

Stuart Shake, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Indiana University. After completing his undergraduate studies in 1985, he began his career in the quality control industry. However, his longstanding interest in eye care eventually led him to pursue optometry, and he went on to graduate from optometry school in 1991

Dr. Shake's passion for optometry began early, during his freshman year of high school. As a student-athlete, he needed contact lenses for sports and made several visits to his hometown optometrist to achieve the right fit. That personal experience sparked a deep interest in the field—an interest that also influenced his twin brother to explore the same path. Eventually, the two would attend the Illinois College of Optometry together in Chicago.

Today, Dr. Shake is passionate about helping patients achieve their best vision. He values the personal connections he forms through care and is driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on his patients’ quality of life.
